Sustainability talks: Cultural and Natural Heritage

According to Dr. Emilie Ens, Australia natural heritage is the aboriginal nature. Therefore, she went to remote Australia for her research works. She thinks that people could enhance eco-cultural heritage in SE Arnhem land by fencing around wetlands, which are culturally and ecologically significant, and by doing cross-cultural biodiversity surveys. The way that she used to achieve this goal is combing the local indigenous and western scientific together in fields like knowledge, language and forms of communication. All her efforts are to inform local decision-making, empower local communities, create local employment opportunities and maintain “natural ” and cultural heritage.
